What's New To DoPRAYER QUILT MINISTRY The Prayer Quilt Ministry is primarily a prayer ministry in the form of tied lap quilts, which are given to people, free of charge, who are going through a physical, emotional or spiritual crisis.
Immanuel is part of Prayers & Squares International www.prayerquilt.org, as Chapter 847. Saturday workshops started soon after. A prayer quilt may be requested by a person who needs one, by a family member or friend, or by our pastor. Before tying a prayer quilt for an individual, we contact them to ask if they will accept the gift of prayer in the form of a quilt. We also ask how we can best direct our prayers for them. Our goal is to encourage and involve as many people as possible to participate in the prayer effort, and that is done when the quilt is prayed over and tied during our church services. The quilt offers a a tangible prayer covering to the recipient, filled with the love and concern our congregation has for them, to help them through their difficult time.
We have a group of three women who are actively participating in the crafting of the quilts and hope to have more join in the fun. We enjoy working together in the designing of quilt tops, cutting and sewing the flannel backing which has a cross in the center, pining the layers together, binding the edge and finally sewing in the threads that will become the prayer ties of the quilt. What a fun and rewarding ministry this is and we are all very blessed to be a part of it!

First and Third Sunday of the Month
Greeters
Needed: Warm, smiling faces to greet/usher before Sunday morning services. Greeters are a very important aspect to a church...they are the first impression and the people that first make visitors comfortable. We need both men and women to be put on a rotating schedule. Call or visit the church office OR hit the Contact us button to get more info.
Media Ministry Team
Lights! Camera! Action!
If you are interested in technology - not necessarily knowledgeable, but interested, we are building our media ministry team. This team would work with the PowerPoint projector, recording equipment, sound and lighting, and other multimedia. If you like buttons, knobs, and wires, you might enjoy joining this team - also on a rotating basis. Again, contact us thru this website, or via the church office for more information.
